How to Use Beyond Credentials

You didn't get great credentials by sitting and clicking a Submit button. And you won't land a great job by aimlessly applying to a bunch of different companies you see on job boards.

This is the most competitive job market in over 30 years; your resume just doesn't cut it anymore.

You have to figure out what career you really want and why you're different.
Then you have to get creative and stand out. Here's how:

  • Invest some time, complete your profile, answer some questions to show why you are different and let companies see why you'd be a great hire beyond your credentials.
  • Add pictures (save & upload from Facebook), answer video interview questions via webcam, add writing samples and share personal interests that make an emotional connection (e.g. "I'm reading that book too! She might be a good fit here").
  • Control who sees your page (yourname.beyondcredentials.com), download your business cards and track your page views so you can keep track of the people with whom you need to follow.
  • Now you have your own professional website from an elite network that shows you are accomplished, personable and tech savvy. GO SHARE IT on applications, with your friends, family, faculty and alumni groups...through email, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or in person with your business cards we provide you. Even your best contacts can't help you if they don't have a way to sell you. Now they do.

Apply, complete your profile and get in front of decision makers in 3 ways:
Network anywhere, anytime.

Share your profile link with your best contacts so they can quickly to show you off to their very busy friends. Add it to your LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter accounts so anyone that googles you finds your professional identity and quickly understands you.

Meet good contacts in your city.

Find networks in your preferred industry wherever you are using the BC Blog events calendar, your alumni groups, Hoovers and sites like meetup.com. Then, attend with good conversation and bring business cards. Follow up within 48 hrs.

Be persistent with your pipeline.

Keep meeting people in your desired industry, even if you are not successful right away. Others will quit. But if you dig deeper into these networks and volunteer to help them in any way, you'll stand out and people will notice.

Invitation or Application Only

We only accept students and alumni from US News & World Reports's top 300 Universities in the US with a 3.0+ GPA.

Our members must be one of the following:
-Hand picked by campus or faculty reps
-Members of prestigious national honor societies
-OR must apply for membership

All profiles will be live but pending for 72 hours while information is verified.

We are NOT a job board

If you came here expecting to see hundreds of jobs, you've come to the wrong place.  80% of jobs are filled before they're ever posted to a job board, so most public postings won't help you.

What will help you is a new tool that grabs people's attention more than a cover letter or resume ever could...it's the next best thing to meeting you.

What will my profile look like?
